On May 7, 2025, we reached a milestone that has left us reflecting on the incredible impact of this journey: the birth of our 1,000th baby through SPS!

The baby—named Miguel—was carried by a surrogate who also works as a case manager for SPS. She had previously carried his older sibling for the same family through our program.

Stories like theirs remind us that surrogacy is about so much more than a number—it’s about the lives forever changed.

For intended parents, it’s the realization of a dream they’ve often worked years to achieve. For surrogates, it’s the joy of helping someone else experience parenthood. And for all of us at SPS, it’s a reminder of why this work matters so deeply.

A journey built on courage and compassion

Becoming a surrogate takes a unique kind of strength. It’s not just about carrying a child for someone else—it’s about giving part of yourself to help make another family’s dream a reality.

The emotional and physical commitment is huge, but for many surrogates, it’s a journey they wouldn’t trade for anything.

As one SPS surrogate, Heather, shared:

“This pregnancy was just as enjoyable as my own pregnancies, and now I will always have a connection with this new family. It just feels like I gained another family, which is an amazing and gratifying feeling.”

Another surrogate, Jaleesa, reflected on the moment she saw the intended parents holding their baby for the first time:

“In just seconds, you watch someone transform into a mom or dad when all they could do before was dream of being one. Nothing was more magical other than when I had my own children.”
